    This is an antique hard to find 39 star International 1876 Centennial Philadelphia Exhibition Textile or kerchief.  The textile measures about 25” by about 16” The textile was produced by International and patented on December 28, 1975.  This textile is printed on linen, on one side only  with a 39 star American flag surrounded by 38 other nation’s flags.  The flat has rows of 7 stars and 6 stars for a total of 39 stars in its constellation.  The 39 star flag was never put into use and was superseded by the admission of the 40th state to the Union.    This flag was purchased from an estate with many other treasures.  The 1876 flag has some small holes, brown spotting, is very faded and has fold lines.  This antique International 1876 Centennial Philadelphia Exhibition textile appears to be in antique used condition and is offered as is.
