Antique French Wheel Barometer

Description

Antique French wheel mercury barometer signed Bayles a Cabors, circa 1900. Solid hardwood case with decorative molding detail. Features a spirit thermometer. Scales are printed in French with outer scale metric and inner scale 'Paris Inch' - an official scale in use since Charlemagne (used for 1000 years), favored by Continental scientists until the (French) metric system became more widespread. Reaumur / metric units on thermometer scale. Measures 36" high.
Local pickup preferred, otherwise mercury will be removed for shipping.
