Sterling silver
palmettes pattern
two-bend thimble with
monogram "MYD"
and
size 7 on the band
.
It
measures 7/8" (2 cm)tall by  5
/8" (1.5 cm) in diameter
.
Very nice old thimble in
good condition with some age and wear, slightly out of round, with few dents with no holes. Similar thimbles are
shown on p. 32 (plate 6),
p. 36, p.43 (plate 34)
of Gay Ann Rogers' book "American Silver Thimbles". Great addition to any collection.
