Beech & Hancock Jeddo pattern soup tureen 1860s. An oval creamy colored pottery bowl with pedestal base. The bowl is decorated with black prints of exotic flowers, C scrolls etc. all hand coloured in the Imari colours of cobalt blue, brick red, and gold. Maker – The base is marked Beech & Hancock with the pattern name "Jeddo" in a cartouche, also a hand painted number 23. The stamp is that of Beech & Hancock in Tunstall 1857-1876. Condition – The bowl is in good condition with one small defect/chip on the top edge (see photo), lid and under-plate are in good clean condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The bowl is 5" high, 10" wide. This auction includes the matching under-plate, the lid, and a separate small plate that is 7" in diameter. The under-plate is 10"x14" and could be used as a separate serving platter.
