    The Item is an Audubon Color Print
    Common Flying Squirrel
    1 & 2 Males, 3 & 4 Females, 5 Young
    Various Editions of  The Quadrupeds of North America were published by Audubon from 1849 to 1870 and totaled 3 Volumes and contained 155 hand-colored lithographs.
    Size:  The octavo edition quadruped prints are typically around 7" x 10 1/4" in size.
    Images: The images were printed as black and white on cotton-rag paper by stone lithography, followed by skillful hand-coloring of each image. There is no dot-matrix pattern.
    The editions of the prints are hard to determines as there was no effort made to distinguish the editions of the books.
    Print is in very good condition with a library blindstamp to the lower right corner and is mounted in an archival mat.
    Included are 3 leaves from the book describing the animal.
