    A powerful edition paying tribute to the men of the 101 st Airborne
    EVE OF DESTINY

    In the early evening of 5 June 1944 the men of Easy Company, 2nd Battalion,
    506th Parachute Infantry Regiment take inventory of their equipment on the hard-standing
    of Upottery Airfield, Devon. Adorned with hastily applied invasion stripes, the C-47s
    of the 438th Troop Carrier Group stand primed, ready to carry the elite unit to
    Normandy
    in the early hours of D-Day 1944.
    This outstanding painting was specially commissioned to honor the veterans who fought with one of the most famous Airborne Divisions in history – the US 101st.
