A magnificient French antique white ironstone tureen made by Pexonne. Pexonne pottery works (located in Lorraine) was founded in 1720 and closed in 1953. This tureen was produced in the late 1800s. The blue transferware decor named Papillon (Butterfly) features flowers and insects. The antique tureen is perfectly suitable for food serving. It would be perfect on your table to add a French country touch. Overall good antique conditon with some normal signs of ages: only one chip on the rim.
