Clarence Leonard ''Kelly'' Johnson 1910 1990] was an American aeronautical and systems engineer who is recognized for his contributions to a series of aircraft designs, most notably the Lockheed U-2 and SR-71 Blackbird aircraft. Johnson produced the first production aircraft to exceed Mach 3, the first fighter capable of Mach 2, along with numerous contributions to various other noted aircraft. Johnson was the first team leader of the Lockheed Skunk Works Program and played a key role in the design of over 40 aircraft over his four decade career and was awarded the prestigious Collier Trophy. Listed for auction is a stunning framed display which contains the autograph of Clarence Leonard ''Kelly'' Johnson along with a stunning oversized image of the SR-71 Blackbird signed by former SR-71 pilots. The autograph of Clarence Johnson is signed ''C.L. ''Kelly'' Johnson Lockheed Aircraft Corp'' in black felt pen on a page which measures 7.50 x 4.00 inches, [5.00 x 2.50] displayed and is in fine condition. The autograph has been authenticated by JSA  Authentication Services and will be accompanied with the above Letter of Authenticity. The photograph mounted at the top is a [16.00 x 12.00 inch] b/w quality image of the SR-71 Blackbird which has been signed by the following SR-71 pilots in black felt pen, Colonel Adelbert W. ''Buz'' Carpenter, Lt. Colonel Gerald Glasser, Major Terry Pappas, Lt. Colonel Gilbert Bertelson, and Major John Manzi. Mounted on both sides of the Clarence Johnson autograph is a SR-71 Blackbird, and a SR-71 HABU cloth patch. The last item is a professionally engraved plaque which reads as follows, ''Lockheed SR-71 - Clarence ''Kelly'' Johnson. The display has been professionally double matted in a outer black swede matte and accented with a silver inner matte and completed in a quality silver/black wood frame to the dimensions of 28.00 x 22.00 inches. The autograph of Clarence Johnson is not common to obtain, this is a desirable example, mounted along with the autographs of noted blackbird pilots within a stunning presentation and will be a great addition to any aviation collection.
