Built with the optimized stiffness and sole to take on the steepest hunts, the Rebel K features a comfortable Sock-Fit XT® tongue and an impenetrable HDry® waterproof-breathable membrane.
OVERVIEW
Built under an exclusive collaboration between KUIU and Scarpa, the Rebel K 8 HD handles steep, vertical climbs and sheer descents with comfort and stability. They’re ideal for hunts when side-hilling and difficult, mountainous terrain are expected.
Though they’re built for an upright landscape, their versatility of comfort will handle any terrain.
SYNTHETIC UPPER
In wet weather, all-leather uppers eventually get soaked, take on water weight, and lack breathability.
Once wet, leather is slow to dry, and once they dry, shrinkage normally occurs, causing an inconsistent fit.
The Rebel K 8 HD is full synthetic, so it doesn’t have the issues associated with an all-leather boot.
Synthetic materials absorb less moisture in the system, they’re quick-drying, and don’t shrink while drying.
Synthetic boots also require less maintenance and they’re lighter than an all-leather boot.
The boot’s sides, which are typically subjected to heavy wear-and-tear, are paneled with Super Fabric, an extremely durable, synthetic material featuring ceramic dots which improve durability, while keeping it super breathable.
The trim weight without sacrificing durability, the boot features a hybrid rand. Full rubber around the toe box for flexibility and lightweight poly PU in the rear.
This adds rock scuffing durability throughout the rand without the added weight of a full rubber rand.
FIT &FEEL *PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING
KUIU SCARPA boots are sized with a mountaineering fit, which positions your toes at the end of the toe box.
Most mountaineers prefer a tight fit for climbing, though it’s not ideal for hunting.
For a comfortable fit, we recommend ordering a half size larger than normal shoe size.
If you’re between sizes, go up on full size.
All boot sizes fit an average foot width.
*Example: If you measure size 9, order 9.5.
If you measure 9.25, order size 10.
Traditional hikers flex throughout the shank, though they may feel comfortable on flat ground and light trails, they lack stiffness for front-point climbing and gaining purchase on steep and vertical terrain.
The Rebel K 8 HD mirrors the natural movements of your feet by pivoting at the ankle and only flexing at the toe.
If you’re new to a mountaineering-type boot, they take some getting used to, but once you’ve experienced the stability, comfort, and added traction in vertical terrain, there’s no going back to a traditional hiker or hunting boot.

HDRY MEMBRANE
Unlike loose-hanging water proof liners that allow boots or gloves to take on water, HDry laminates a one-piece waterproof and breathable membrane to the inside of the outer shell.
This leaves no seams to penetrate or gaps for water to collect.
The results are improved durability, breathability, no added water weight, and dry comfortable skin.
