Description
This is a near-mint pair of vintage 1980sVuarnet 027
black nylon glacier sunglasses with Vuarnet lanyard.
This is the style worn by Kurt Russell in the film "The Thing" and by Daniel Craig in the James Bond film "Spectre."
The 027 was also known as the 4027 on models produced in the 1990s era.
Inner left arm is imprinted
027
. Inner right arm has
FRAME FRANCE
in the mold with crown logo.
Outer left arm is imprinted
Px VUARNET
. Outer right arm is imprinted
Px
(indicating
POUILLOUX
).
The temples have cable hook "shooter" stems with removable clear ear pieces. Arms are not adjustable.
Lenses are
PX4000 Skilynx
amber mineral glass with dual gradient mirror surfaces and blue interior coating.
Both lenses are etched at the top center with the authentic "
V on a ski
" Vuarnet logo.
Frames and lenses are near perfect. I found one tiny pinpoint ding in the center right lens which is barely visible.
The Vuarnet lanyard has color enamel
V
logo plaques near the arm loops.
The removable leather side shields are not original Vuarnet but were taken from frames made from the same mold.
The side-shields also have a thin elastic band for extra security.
