In the group of traditional dosing double baskets, the new Rancilio basket #102 is a great improvement over previous Rancilio baskets and other available baskets. It has the highest manufactured quality—10 times better than all other conventional baskets on the market and features the following:
1. Surface is very smooth which helps in cleaning and puck release.
2. Hole quality and uniformity for size is very high. Holes are cut very precisely.
3. Dosing the basket by volume (loose fill to the rim) will give you the correct dose for the bean type and roast level.
4. Walls are tapered to gain some thickness for the coffee puck, and to compensate for the different extraction ratio from top layers to bottom
layers.
