The colors are amazingly undiminished and the ultramarine blue is especially saturated and still extraordinarily vivid. There's only some weakening of the paper found along the interior folds of the paper print, which is hinged to the heavy millboard by two pieces of transparent tape. The lithograph isn't 'laid-down' on the board and floats above it, unattached. The only measurable and depreciating damage to the print is largely found in the lower print margins, with tears and paper loss in the right and left corners, not affecting the pictorial plane and occurring outside of the outlined lithographic image of the scene. The paper also doesn't suffer from any internal tears or depreciating episodes of foxing, tanning, light or dark stains, water damage or insect larvae damage. It could be matted with 100% cotton rag archival mat board, with the upper and lower blocks of text displayed with cut-away viewing windows. The torn-away and now absent left and right corners, wouldn't even be visible when this newly designed, archival mat system was placed in a period frame. Extremely rare. Absolutely gorgeous. Important.
    CONDITION:
Fair to Good overall antique condition.
