Shel Silverstein - Writer & Illustrator - Original Ink Autograph, Drawing, And Poem!!!.
What I have here is a one on a kind item. I’ts been in my personal collection for about 15 years now.
I bought this in Webster Florida on around 2005.
This is a 12” coffee plastic container.
1. The author drew a caricature of himself I think..( he was bald, and had a beard) as in the cartoon he drew.
2. He signed it
3. He drew a path around the cup
4. He wrote an amazing poem about his looong beard!!
“My beard grows down to my toes,
I never wears no clothes,
I wraps my hair around my bare
And down the road I goes”
All hand done in permanent Sharpie( I’m assuming it’s permanent ink but could be wrong)
This is one of my prized items...
I have no authentication material, but you be the judge.
I have taken it to several book, and memorabilia shows just to show it off, and everyone that knows more than me agrees that it’s authentic.
I hope it goes to someone that remembers their years as a child, when your teacher would read to you.
My 4th grade teacher would read Shel Silverstein to us everyday, and I was so amazed as to what an incredible impact it made in my young mind!
