Description

This sale features a 1961 large silver coin called the Morelos silver un peso.  Larger in diameter than a USA Half Dollar.  Minted from 1957 to 1967, this was the last silver peso to be produced by the Republic of Mexico.  Jose Maria Morelos y Pavon, was a Roman Catholic priest and a  famous warrior and revolutionary commander of Mexican Forces in the revolution against Spain.   He was captured by the Spanish authorities and executed for treason in 1815 at the age of 50.  I am no coin expert but the coin is in good condition.  I have taken a close up picture so you can judge the condition for your self.  The coin in the picture is the coin you will receive.      coin # T-37
