++++ NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING.....48 STATES ONLY ++++++ THIS UNIT WAS 1499.99 NEW FOLKS.Up for sale is this SONY PCM-2800 DAT player // recorder. Recently serviced with Paul's shop, ProDigital. This unit plays and works well. With 4 motor D.D. transport nearly indestructible. Custom XLR->RCA cables included with power cord and XLR Digital Cable. Unit has RCA digital in and out. Also XLR digital in and out. Unit has Analog XLR in and out connections (Thus the custom cables to use with home receiver).
Remote not included.
Not pictured but included are the rack mountable side brackets. I am missing the screws, however I will attempt to find substitutes if unit sells.
Condition: Top of unit has scratches and scrapes and was like this when I purchased this in 2013. Side panels are very clean as the rack mount brackets kept them from being scratched. Used very little since I bought the unit.
History: I bought this unit to playback my massive collection of live master recordings. Some of these tapes, due to the ravages of time, do not all playback well in this unit (masters from 1991-1997). The onboard logic for these Sony decks is not designed for the 90 meter (3 hour) tapes that make up 90% of my collection. Also my masters were recorded primarily on portable TASCAM dat decks.
I will provide a brand new DAT tape with a recording of some music on it so you can demo this yourself upon arrival.
Being sold as is due to the high shipping cost of this item. Willing to provide additional pictures if needed to complete the sale.
Thanks for looking. Good Luck! No reserve!!
I will answer any questions usually within 24 hrs. of receipt via Email.
****(UPDATE 3/24/22): After recording 2hrs37min I am not confidant that this machine is 100% I was getting digital noise during playback for the first 2-3 min and then seemed to level off with intermediate digital noise off and on through 15 min in. I stopped playback at this point. Selling as is. No returns. Maybe someone in California can fix this correctly as I have exausted East Coast repair shops.****
