    Description

    SONY PCM F 1 DIGITAL AUDIO CONVERTER.
    One owner, purchased in 1979 in Japan.
    Description: digital-audio converter for use with  any video recording system. Price in 1980 was 00.
    Inputs: stereo microphones (10k ohms unbalanced) or stereo line level (20k ohms).
    Outputs: Audio line level, PCM copy, video connections to videocassette recorder or any video signal recorded that you feed through it's composit video inputs and outputs.
    Quantization: Switch-selectable to step it down to a 14 bit PCM converter,
    there was a known phasing issue at 17k, it is modified around 1985 so now when
    selecting
    "14 bit", it leaves it in 16 bit conversion rate, and corrects this phasing issue. It's very subtle, does not affect any other function of the unit.
