ORIGINAL LEO BROWNE 'THE TWO MACAWS' HAND COLORED SIGNED LIMITED EDITION ETCHING
This is just a great original piece.  A couple times a month I acquire a piece of art by an artist, that I am amazed there is not a full biography about and other historical print sales records.  This is one of those times.  Particularly because I have only found one other original print like this one and it is at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and is actually pictured on the website.  I am amazed his work is not out there as the quality of the work is indicative of one of the better artists of the period.  Not too mention this is one of the finest bird etchings I have come across.  A large image of 2 macaws, this is a wonderful hand colored etching with the image measuring 16 1/4 x 11 3/4 inches.  Signed, titled, and numbered 12/100 in pencil below the image.  The etching seems to be in near perfect as printed condition.  The hand coloring is bright and vibrant and I really love the black background.  It really makes the colors even brighter.  Original wood grained look matte, and a bamboo like wood frame make for an outstanding presentation.  Really just an incredible original piece.  In all the research I was doing for this piece, I did find that this image was reproduced and sold as a simple unsigned print without the black background. Dont miss this incredible original.  Frame measures 22 3/4 x 17 1/2 inches.
